AIIMS Rishikesh to host Youth summit of G20 countries

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh would host the Youth 20 summit of the G20 countries on May 4 and 5. Informing about the international convention, the executive director of the AIIMS Rishikesh, Dr Meenu Singh here on Tuesday said that it is a matter of great pride for us that India is presiding over the meeting of G20 countries this year. She said that the Youth 20 convention would focus on preparing the youth for the global challenges and extensive preparations are being made in the AIIMS Rishikesh for the convention. Dr Singh said the youth will get an opportunity for mutual discussions to be aware of health, well being and sports at the international level. She said that many run up events have been done for the convention and the students of the AIIMS Rishikesh are actively involved in the convention. 

“ This summit will provide an opportunity to present the image of the country and the state in the world. Y20 is a youth networking event. It is a platform for the world’s largest and most advanced economies to bring together young leaders from around the world,’’ she said.

The AIIMS executive director said that on May 4, a conclave on holistic health would be organised which would be addressed by Swami Avadheshanand of Juna Akhada, Swami Chidanand of Parmarth Niketan, former director of PGIMER Chandigarh K K Talwar, the chairman of Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB), NMC government of India, Dr BN Gangadhar and others.
 The Union minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs Nisith Pramanik and Union minister of State for Health and Family Affairs, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar would be the chief guests on the second day of the convention.
