In latest Uttarakhand news, in a daring daylight burglary, some unidentified persons broke into the residence of an assistant professor of AIIIMS Rishikesh- breaching the multi-layered security cover of the premier health facility- and decamped with jewllery and cash. Police rushed to the site on receiving information and informed that the jewellery items worth about Rs 10 lakh and about 40,000 in cash were found missing. Police further informed that the burglary happened after the professor and his wife had left for Himalayan Hospital, Jolly Grant at around 8 am to attend to duty. Police are now scrutinising the CC TV footages to identify the burglars.
It is further learnt that the assistant professor AIIMS Rishikesh Asok Singh whose residence was burgled is working at the pathology department of the government-run health facility.
