Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the officers of the Health department to airlift the pregnant women to the nearest health centre if needed during the disaster. He asked the officers to prepare a work plan in this regard. The CM chaired a meeting of the senior officers of the State
Health department at his residence on Friday. Dhami said that special and effective efforts are needed to reduce the maternal mortality rate in the State. He also gave necessary instructions to the officers for the healthcare of the pregnant women.
The Health secretary R Rajesh Kumar informed that every maternal mortality is being extensively examined in the State. He said that the registration of every pregnant woman is being done and Asha workers and ANMs are suggesting them for prenatal check-up.
Kumar said that the birth plan of all pregnant women is being prepared by the department which includes the information about the nearest testing centre and maternity centre. An arrangement of free ultrasound is being done at 18th and 22nd week and for this free transport facility is being provided by 102 (Khushiyon ki Savari) service. The secretary further informed that the facility of one stop centre is being provided to the pregnant women where they can stay before the delivery. He said that during disaster the group of persons carrying pregnant women in palanquin to the road head or to 108 ambulance service is paid a sum of Rs 2000.
The secretary said that the pregnant women will be carried to the nearest hospital with a caesarean facility by helicopters during the disaster period.
