PNS | DEHRADUN

The chief spokesperson of Congress in Uttarakhand, Garima Dasauni said that the three-year tenure of the Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) chairman Ajendra Ajay was full of controversies, adding that he proved to be complete failure in managing affairs of the temple committee.

She said that his biggest failure was the gold scam in Kedarnath temple in which 228 kilogrammes of gold got converted into brass. Similarly, in the QR code issue in which a QR code was placed at the entrance of the temple, when people raised objections to the QR code, the BKTC initially tried to evade responsibility but later the committee accepted that the QR code was placed by it. Dasauni claimed that a donation worth lakhs of rupees was deposited through the QR code but no one knows as to who the actual beneficiary of the donation was.

Dasauni said that the VIP culture was promoted during the tenure of Ajay and the pictures of sanctum sanctorum of the temples went viral.  The Congress leader also accused Ajay of irregularities in promotion and appointment of staff in the temple committee.

She said that Char Dham are the pride of the State and backbone of the economy. Dasauni said that the State government should select an impartial, non-controversial person having a vision for appointment to the post of the BKTC chairman.
