Alarming spike in Covid- 19 graph in U’khand
630 new cases, three deaths reported in a day on Thursday

The alarming rise in the number of Covid-19 cases in Uttarakhand is continuing with the state health department reporting 630 new cases of the disease on Thursday. Death of three patients from the disease was also reported on the day. On Wednesday the department had reported 505 cases of the disease.
The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,47,098 while a total of 3,31,756 patients have recovered from the disease so far. A total of 7423 people have died in the state so far. The recovery percentage from the disease is at 95.58 per cent while the sample positivity rate on Thursday was 03.74 per cent. The state health department reported a staggering 268 new patients from Dehradun, 119 from Haridwar, 85 from Nainital, 72 from Pauri, 35 from Udham Singh Nagar, 18 from Almora, 11 from Uttarkashi, eight from Champawat, five from Chamoli, four each from Pithoragarh and Tehri and one from Bageshwar on Thursday. No new case was reported from Rudraprayag district on the day.
One patient each died in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh and Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital on Thursday. One patient succumbed to the disease in Haridwar district on the day.
The state now has 1,425 active cases of Covid-19. Dehradun with 673 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Nainital has 277 active cases of the disease which is closely followed by Haridwar district with 212 active cases. Rudraprayag is the only district in the state which has no active case of the disease now.
In the ongoing vaccination drive 91,505 people were vaccinated in 1,297 sessions in the state held on Thursday.
