Alert issued about possible release of excess water from Srinagar dam

In latest Uttarakhand news, the State disaster management department has issued alert regarding the volume of water likely to be released from Srinagar dam in the wake of the rising water level of Alakananda river. As per the alert notice, there is a strong possibility of 3000 cusecs of excess water of upstream Alakananda river reaching the Srinagar dam around 9.30 am and as this water would be released from Srinagar dam around 9.30 am it would reach Devprayag at 10.30 am, Rishikesh at 12.30 pm and Haridwar around 1 pm. Taking this possibility into account, all departments concerned must take all possible steps to save the life of the people from any calamity that might happen.
