Alert issued- heavy to very heavy rains likely in parts of State

The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (alert) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri and Pauri districts on Tuesday. It has also issued a yellow warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar, Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense to very intense spells are also likely to occur at isolated places in the districts today while light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag ,Chamoli, Bageshwar, Almora, Pithoragarh and Udham Singh Nagar districts and at most places in the remaining districts.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness partly to generally cloudy skies today. Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense/heavy in some areas toward afternoon/evening. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 30 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Tuesday. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Monday were 28.6 degrees Celsius and 22.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 30.4 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 16.4 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 21.6 degrees Celsius and 17.3 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. There was 5.4 millimetres rain in Dehradun, 22 millimetres in Kedarnath, 19 millimetres in Sonprayag and 10 millimetres in Bharsar on Monday.
