All Panchayat Bhawans under Bharat Net project electrified: UPCL

The Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has claimed to have electrified all the Panchayat Bhawans covered under the ambitious Bharat Net project in the State. The managing director of the UPCL, Anil Kumar said that the corporation has provided electricity connection to 697 Panchayat Bhawans in 10 districts of the State covered under the Bharat Net project. He said that electricity connections have been given to 126 Panchayat Bhawans in Almora, 161 in Bageshwar, 24 in Champawat, 76 in Dehradun, 51 in Haridwar, 112 in Nainital, 56 in Pauri, 42 in Tehri, 18 in Udham Singh Nagar and 31 in Uttarkashi district. The MD congratulated the regional officers and employees of the UPCL for successfully electrifying all the Panchayat Bhawans under the Bharat Net scheme. High speed internet connectivity is provided in the rural areas under the scheme. The objective of the Bharat Net project is connecting rural India with internet services.
