An alumna of All Saints’ College in Nainital, Nidhi Sah has received recognition for playing a role in setting a new Guinness world record. She received the certificate for the record for the largest display of crochet hats/caps achieved by Mahila Manovikas at Visakhapatanam on September 18 this year. Nidhi Sah had passed out of All Saint’s College in 1998.
During the Covid-19 pandemic she along with 200 of her accomplices prepared 4,696 crochet hats and caps to set this world record. Sah, who believes in sustainable development, said that her interest in knitting, stiching and crochet is connected to the childhood years she had spent in Nainital. After learning the basics from Nainital, she honed her skills at the National Institute of Design. Under the aegis of Mahila Manovikas organisation, she along with 200 women from around the world used their skills to set the new world record.
The crochet hats prepared by the women were recently displayed at Visakhapatnam and the same have also been donated by now. The All Saints’ College principal Kiran Jeremiah expressed happiness at the achievement of the school’s alumna and wished success and progress for all the students of the school.
