Outrightly rejecting the allegations leveled by the Congress regarding postal ballots, the Bharatiya Janata Party has termed the allegations a result of the Congress’ frustration. The BJP state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that before the declaration of the Assembly election results, the Congress was uncomfortable and nervous. Gauging its own undesirable condition, the party is now resorting to making various types of statements and allegations. The BJP state media in-charge said, “The Election Commission of India had conducted fair elections in the state along with better facility to enable the differently abled and senior citizens to cast their vote. However, the Congress is habituated to nitpicking according to its convenience. Levelling allegations about EVMs at times and then postal ballots, polling or other types of alleged misuse of the machinery shows that the Congress is frustrated.”
Chauhan further said that the Congress is presently passing through a state of confusion. “Former chief minister Harish Rawat is busy with his efforts to gain support for this claim to the post of chief minister while Pritam Singh is busy operating on the Congress poll manifesto whereas the Pradesh Congress Committee president Ganesh Godiyal is singing a new tune about postal ballots. None of them have the patience to wait till the counting of votes. The frustration being shown by the Congress leaders makes it appear as if they are being nagged by the fear of defeat. They have an idea of their defeat which is why they are making up fantastic claims. However, the people of Uttarakhand have made it clear that they want the double-engine government,” claimed Chauhan.
