Alleged bribery: DM forms probe team

Taking cognizance of a bribery complaint, the Chamoli district magistrate Gaurav Kumar has ordered an impartial investigation into the complaint sent by a resident of village Pagna, Tehsil Chamoli,   Tajwar Singh to the DM, stating that a bribe had been demanded of him in exchange for providing a copy of the old Khatauni from the revenue department record room.

Acting swiftly on the matter, the DM constituted a three-member inquiry committee headed by the additional district magistrate to investigate the matter. The district administrative sources said that the ADM has been appointed the chairman, while the treasurer and the district social welfare officer have been named as members.

The DM instructed the committee to thoroughly investigate all facts related to the case on a priority basis and submit the report in a week.He categorically stated that his administration would not tolerate corruption of any kind.  “All, found involved in corruption,  will face consequences,” he added.
