Amit Shah to inaugurate 49th AIPSC in Doon

The Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the 49th All India Police Science Congress (AIPSC) in Dehradun’s Forest Research Institute (FRI) on October 7. The Uttarakhand police will organise this event under the aegis of the Central Government’s agency Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD). The event will be conducted on October 7 and 8 and the theme of the 49th AIPSC will be Policing in Amrit Kaal, informed the officials. They said the State is getting the opportunity to host the AIPSC after 12 years. The State police conducted the 41st edition of AIPSC in 2011 from June 21 to 23. The event this year will be inaugurated on October 7 in FRI’s  Convocation Hall and the Home minister has agreed to be the chief guest on the occasion. Besides this, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will be the special guest of honour, as per the officials. They said that people from different walks of life will also be joining the event other than police like educationists, researchers, jurists, science experts and other stakeholders from across the country. They will share their views on AIPSC and the theme of Policing in Amrit Kaal, added officials. They informed that the closing ceremony will be held on October 8 at 4 PM at the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) auditorium and the Uttarakhand governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh will be the chief guest. They informed that a technical exhibition will also be held during the event in which various latest equipment for better policing will be displayed. The department will also invite students from various schools and colleges of Dehradun to the exhibition to understand and learn from the displays, added officials. Informing about the preparations for the event, the officials said that an organising committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of director general of police Ashok Kumar who is supervising all the preparations. The senior police officers of the State are the members of the committee who are monitoring and supervising different aspects of the event, as per the officials.
