It is learnt that 25 people have been identified by police for liking and sharing posts involving Khalistani extremist Amritpal Singh on social media. Among them, 20 people have been given counseling while chalans have been issued against five. Besides, police have taken stern actions against a person from Jaspur of Udham Singh Nagar district for supporting the cause of Khalistan. Security vigilance being intensified, police are conducting vehicular checking and the vehicles carrying Punjab numbers are being specially checked. Regarding Amritpal Singh case, Udham Singh Nagar police are on an alert mode. SSP has deployed additional police force after identifying five sensitive police stations. For the past four days, police have been conducting checking operation in the border areas of the district. The same is being done in Khatima area that borders on Nepal.
