A seminar on the subject, ‘Vatsal Bharat: Child Protection – Safety and Welfare’ was organized under the joint aegis of the Ministry of Women and Child Development and the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) on Sunday at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The programme was attended by the Union minister Smriti Zubin Irani, minister of State (MoS) Mahendrabhai Manjupara, President of NCPCR Priyanka Kanungo and secretary Indivar Pandey.
In the programme Uttarakhand was represented by the Secretary Hari Chandra Semwal, Chief Probation Officers, Superintendents of Child Care Institutions from all districts of the state, representatives of Child Welfare Committee and Juvenile Justice Board and Anganwadi workers.
The representative from Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh also participated in the regional seminar
