Anganwadi workers rally to CM residence seeking pending salaries

PIONEER NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun

Raising issues of their pending salaries and long-standing demands, Anganwadi workers marched towards chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s residence here on Monday.

The march to the CM’s residence took place on Monday though the police prevented the protesters from advancing by erecting barricades. This led to an argument between the police and the protesters, culminating in the protesters sitting down at Hathibadkala in protest. Negi stated that there has been a consistent struggle to resolve their demands, yet no concrete action has been taken, leading to growing frustration among the Anganwadi workers.

Additionally, she said that no Anganwadi worker has received their honorarium for the last few months, which is a significant concern. Considering all this, they submitted a memorandum to the CM through an administrative officer, demanding action on their issues.
