Angikaar Campaign 2025 marks one year with awareness drive under PMAY 2.0

The Urban Development Directorate (UDD) launched a public awareness initiative on completion of one year of Angikaar Campaign under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) 2.0. The UDD teams reached out to people on the occasion and conducted awareness programmes, the UDD social development expert Ramesh Chauhan said.

He stated that the campaign has been designed to connect people with the objectives of PMAY and to make them aware of the benefits available under the scheme. He informed that the Angikaar initiative focuses on spreading awareness on issues linked with housing and related facilities.

During the outreach, officials and volunteers interacted with residents and informed them about provisions under PMAY 2.0, including the process of availing benefits, the importance of social and environmental concerns and how communities can contribute to better living conditions. Participants were encouraged to adopt practices that align with the aims of the housing mission.

The campaign also highlighted convergence with other schemes that address health, sanitation, energy and financial inclusion, as per Chauhan. According to him, the completion of one year of the Angikaar Campaign was marked as an occasion to renew commitment towards the goals of affordable housing and community development.
