The Uttarakhand Vidyalayi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP) is expected to initiate the registration process for the improvement examinations for classes X and XII for the year 2025 by the end of April. The UVSP released the results for the class X and class XII board examinations on April 19. This year in class X, 90.77 per cent of students passed, with a passing rate of 88.20 per cent for boys and 93.25 per cent for girls. In class XII, 83.23 per cent of students successfully cleared the exam with boys achieving a passing percentage of 80.10 per cent and girls 86.20 per cent. Further, students who did not achieve satisfactory marks or failed in specific subjects have another opportunity available through the UVSP.

Regarding this, the secretary of the UVSP Vinod Simalti stated that students who have either struggled to achieve good marks or have failed in a specific subject should not be concerned. They will have the opportunity to enhance their scores by participating in an improvement examination. He said that the registration process for these improvement exams is anticipated to begin by the end of April, after which students will be able to fill out their applications. According to him, students in class X who have failed in two subjects are liable to give improvement examinations, while in class XII, students who failed in one subject will give improvement examinations. Subsequently, the improvement examinations will take place in July, and the results are expected to be announced in August, he said.

He further added that there has been a noticeable improvement in student results this time. Prior to the start of the board examinations, teachers received training with model test papers and subsequently provided their students with guidance based on this training. This initiative has contributed to an increase in the pass percentage of students in the year 2025.
