The hospital is the fourth hospital of Kashipur to have faced suspension in less than a month
After detection of many irregularities in registration of claims in the Ayushman scheme, the State Health Authority (SHA) has suspended the Anmol hospital of Kashipur in Udham Singh Nagar district from its list of empanelled hospitals. Incidentally this hospital is the fourth hospital of Kashipur which has faced suspension action in less than a month. The suspension against the hospital was taken after a team of the SHA found gross irregularities in about 160 claims registered by the hospital.
The team found irregularities like absence of attached pictures of the patients in ICU beds, missing of many vital charts, direct discharge of patients from ICU, absence of necessary pathology test reports, non compliance of ICU-HDU protocol, showing patients from general ward admitted in ICU-HDU to increase package amount, showing OPD patients into IPD, and non availability of phased treatment in surgical cases. The average claim size of the Anmol hospital was also abnormally high. The pollution certificate of the hospital too has expired in March 2022.
According to the SHA, the hospital has completely violated the guidelines of the NHA. The hospital has so far sent claims of more than 70 lakh to the SHA, out of which more than 20 cases have been rejected due to irregularities. The SHA has also ordered a special audit of the claims in more than 140 cases.
The chairman of the SHA, DK Kotia said that action against the Anmol hospital was taken after many irregularities came to light.
He has said that such an act of the hospital can also endanger the lives of the patients. Kotia said that the SHA would initiate the process of recovery from the hospital.
