With murder spree going on unabated in Dehradun as well as Uttarakhand, a young man was shot dead by unidentified assailants around 10:15 AM in Silver City under Rajpur police station area of Dehradun. Police have confirmed the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Vikram Singh, a resident of Sahastradhara Road.
According to reports, he was leaving the gym after a workout when two or three criminals, who had already been lying in wait, opened fire on him. Three bullets were pumped into him.
Vikram was immediately rushed to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead.
Another broad daylight murder in the capital which marks the third one in two weeks has deepened insecurity among people. Senior police officers, including SSP Ajay Singh, arrived at the scene. Police are examining footage from nearby CCTV cameras and searching for the assailants. The case is being investigated from all possible angles, police said.
