The research and development work by Patanjali Research Institute (PRI) on herbal nasal drop Anu Taila for treatment of black fungus disease has been published by the Oxford University Press in its journal Letters in Applied Microbiology.
Acharya Balkrishna said that the ancient medicine Anu Taila has been found to be very effective against cunninghamella bertholletiae. “We have undertaken deep research on this and the Oxford University Press has also published our work. Anu Taila is a herbal nasal drop which delays the spore germination. PRI scientists have found in their research that it effectively prevents the oxidative state of the fungus. Anu Taila prevents the spores of the fungus from germinating and provides strength to the healthy cells to fight the infection. We will bring more scientific research forward to strengthen the scientific viewing of Ayurveda for human health,” said Balkrishna.
PRI principal scientist Anurag Varshney informed that cunninghamella bertholletiae is a rare, fast growing black fungus and Anu Taila prevents its spores from germinating. The PRI confirmed this with scientific evidence and a major microbiology journal of the world has prominently published our work, he added.
