Apollo Tyres hosts ‘United We Play’ football trials in Doon

The trials for United We Play (UWP), a pan-India training and talent development football initiative by Apollo Tyres, were conducted at Pavilion Ground in Dehradun recently where over 250 young footballers participated in under-14 and under-17 categories and 40 youngsters from the trials were shortlisted for the next round of the programme. UWP functionaries said that the programme has been going on across 16 cities in India and key countries in Asia Pacific Middle East and Africa (APMEA), supported by Manchester United to encourage young football talent and give them a platform to showcase their skills. This is the fourth edition of the programme which was kick-started in Kolkata in the presence of former Manchester United and French footballer Louis Saha and it promises to reach over 25,000 young footballers across the country.
Over the last few months, the programme has connected over 600 coaches across the country with Manchester United Soccer Schools. The organisers further said that the best performers from across locations would participate in the grand finale of the competition and winners would get a trip to Manchester with several experiential activities at Old Trafford and Carrington at Manchester United, training with the academy team, interaction with the soccer legends and much more.
