In latest news from Uttarakhand, an army jawan of the 18 Kumaon Regiment who hailed from Dwarahat of Almora district died in the Balakote sector (Poonch) of Jammu and Kashmir under mysterious circumstances. Though the death is yet to be confirmed by the army authorities the relatives of the deceased said he had shot at and died. Identified as Manish Bisth (23), he had joined the army four years ago. The incident happened a few days after he resumed duty after spending some days with his family in his village.
The near ones of the deceased soldier said that he had shot himself from his service rifle. However, the reasons behind why he had taken such an extreme step are not clear yet.
