As part of the Amrti Mahotsav on Independence Day, the Indian Army hoisted the national flag on the Shilakang peak in the high Himalayas here in Chamoli district.
The expedition team of the army of the 9th independent mountain brigade had departed from Joshimath. To mark the Independence Day, the team summated the peak, unfurled the national flag and raised slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
