Aspects of the biggest religious congregation in the world have been affected by the most serious pandemic affecting the world in the recent times- Covid- 19. To overcome this using technology, the Uttarakhand government has arranged for the live telecast of the Kumb Mela in Haridwar.
With the assistance of Doordarshan, the State’s Information department has made high tech arrangements for live telecast of the Shahi Snans.
The Chaitra/Somvati Amavasya Shahi Snan will be telecast live from 9 AM to 4 PM on the Doordarshan national channel and OTT platforms. The clean feed of the Shahi Snan live broadcast will be available free of cost of the media. The live telecast clean feed will be available via download from satellite GSat17 3820mhZ SR 4.25. All media platforms can use this live feed free of cost.
Along with this, arrangements have also been made to make the live streaming, video footage and still photography available to the media through an STP server. The state government has also made arrangement for live broadcast of on LED screens at all district headquarters and major sites across the state.
