The leader of opposition (LoP) in the State Assembly, Yashpal Arya has demanded that all the examinations conducted in past by the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (PSC) and Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (USSSC) that had elicited questions should be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for inquiry.
Arya said that it is unfortunate that almost every examination conducted by the USSSC has come under scanner and discussions on the misdeeds of the commission have occurred in different forums including the state assembly but no action has been taken against the culprits. Arya alleged that scams in the recruitments have occurred in an organised manner in all the BJP ruled states of the country. He said that there are 14 lakh registered unemployed in the state and more than one lakh posts are vacant in different departments of the state.
Giving example of Village Panchayat officer examinations, forest ranger examination, forest guard examinations of USSSC and Lower PCS examination of Public service commission which were marred by many irregularities, Arya said that a high level inquiry should be conducted on all these examinations and action should be taken against the culprits. He said that the Congress party wants that the government should ensure that the recruitment process is fair and transparent so that the lakhs of unemployed aspiring for a job are not cheated. Arya said that 70 per cent posts in all the recruitments should be reserved for the youngsters of the State.
