The Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister, Rekha Arya released Rs 3.05 crore to the beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana (MVY) on Thursday
After digitally transferring the funds to the beneficiaries’ accounts, she informed that the State government has been providing a monthly support of Rs 3,000 to orphaned children who lost their parents due to Covid-19 pandemic since 2020. Funds for this initiative had been disbursed up until November 25, 2025, she added.
She further said that in December 2025, about Rs 1.53 crore had been distributed among 5,114 beneficiaries, while in January, Rs 1.52 crore had gone to 5,078 beneficiaries. Notably, beneficiaries exit this scheme upon reaching the age of 21 years, marrying or getting employed.
