Sports minister Rekha Arya said that she expects that all players from the hockey and kabaddi teams should win medals in the upcoming 38th National Games. She said this while visiting Haridwar on Friday to encourage the teams.
Arya emphasised that winning medals should be the sole focus of the players, urging them to concentrate fully on achieving their goals. She assured the athletes that the government is committed to improving their future, allowing them to focus entirely on their games.
Following her visit with the teams, the Sports minister inspected the venue for the demonstration game of Kalaripayattu located at the Police Line. She was informed by officials that this venue will be officially handed over to the Venue Manager on January 25.
Additionally, Arya added that the government is fully committed to maintaining the sports facilities established for the National Games. She stated that a policy is being developed to ensure the sports infrastructure remains smooth and safe.
Arya further expressed optimism that if India is selected to host the Olympics in 2036, Uttarakhand will be in a position to organise some of the events.
