Arya releases Rs 3.09 crore under MVY

The Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya has released an amount of of Rs 3.09 crore to beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana (MVY) here on Tuesday. Arya said that since 2020, the State government has been providing Rs 3,000 each month to orphaned children who lost their parents due to the Covid-19 pandemic. She also added that funds for this initiative had been disbursed up until September 25. She further added that on Tuesday, about Rs 1.55 crore was disbursed to 5,177 beneficiaries for October. For November, about Rs 1.54 crore was allocated to 5,147 beneficiaries, she said.
Arya further informed that individuals are removed from the scheme once they reach 21 years of age, when a girl beneficiary gets married or when a beneficiary secures employment.
