In latest news from Doon, the State sports minister Rekha Arya officials to ensure proper arrangements for the 38th national games which will be held next year in Uttarakhand. She said this in the review meeting held here on Tuesday.
Addressing officials in the review meeting, Arya directed them to gather feedback from children who have benefitted from the Mukhyamantri Udiyaman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana for a period of one year. Further, she emphasised the importance of timely completion of ongoing construction works at venues where sports competitions are to be organised, she added.
She further asked the officials about the ongoing construction of the Velodrome in Rudrapur. Taking this into consideration, she directed the officials to appoint experts for the construction work to ensure timely completion. During the review meeting, the progress of various sports-related schemes of the state government was discussed, including the four percent reservation, the progress of the sports development fund, the progress of the women’s hostel, Khel Mahakumbh, the inclusion of players in government jobs and several others. The Sports minister instructed the officers to prepare the subjects for the cabinet and the issues for which government orders need to be issued. It was mandated that all tasks related to these subjects must be completed by December 15, and a detailed report of the completed works should be provided thereafter, she added.
