Arya stresses on inter-departmental coordination for effective MVY execution

The State’s Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya stressed on the need for coordination among departments across the State for successful execution of Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana (MVY). Arya conducted a meeting on Monday in the secretariat with the chief secretary Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and the secretaries of various departments including Education, Health, Social Welfare and department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs among others to discuss the work process of the departments concerned to make the benefits available for the beneficiaries under MVY across the State. Arya said that the State government has recently issued the first installment of Rs 3,000 for each beneficiary under this scheme but added that proper coordination among departments at the state level is extremely important to benefit all the beneficiaries marked by the district magistrates.
She has directed the secretaries of the departments to submit the report on the work being done in their respective departments to ensure proper implementation of MVY within one week. She also asked them to maintain coordination among the departments for successful execution of Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana.
The WECD minister also appealed to the eligible beneficiaries to contact the authorities if they are facing problems in getting benefits under the scheme.
It is pertinent to mention here that the State government has marked a total of 2,347 children under MVY who have lost one or both parents or the sole earning member of their family to the Covid-19 disease.
