Arya transfers Rs 4.47 crore under MVY

Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya transferred the amount of over Rs 4.47 crore to beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana (MVY) on Saturday.

After directly transferring the funds into the accounts of the beneficiaries at her camp office, Arya said that this scheme provides assistance of Rs 3,000 per month to destitute children who lost their parents during the Covid-19 epidemic in 2020.

As of May 25, the funds for this scheme had already been released. On Saturday, a total of Rs 1.59 crore was distributed to 5,308 beneficiaries for the month of June. For July, an amount of Rs 1.58 crore has been released to 5,276 beneficiaries. Additionally, Rs 1. 57 crore has been provided to 5,242 beneficiaries for August.

Arya said that beneficiaries are exited from the programme once they turn 21 years old, if a girl beneficiary gets married or if a beneficiary becomes employed.
