One of the key features of the swearing in ceremony was the presence of a large number of Hindu asetics. A special stage was set up for them and their presence gave a saffron colour and provided religious fervour to the ceremony. Before taking oath of office CM Dhami went up to the Sadhus, showered petals over them and took blessings. Apart from him the Uttar Pradesh caretaker chief minister Yogi Adityanath also made it a point to visit the place where the saints were seated. The ascetics who attended the ceremony included Swami Avadheshanand Giri, Swami Chidananand, Acharya Balkrishna, Ravindra Puri, Kailashanand and Sadhvi Niranjan Joyti.
