The Asian School hosted a two-day CBSE Capacity Building Programme on Competency-Based Assessment (Secondary Level) on July 18 and 19. The workshop, themed ‘The Art and Science of Creating Good Questions,’ aimed to empower educators with the skills required to design effective, learner-centric assessments in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the organisers said.
A total of 60 educators attended the workshop, which was conducted by eminent educationists like the director of Bristol Public School, Dehradun, Sarabjit Singh and principal of The Wisdom Global School, Haridwar, Sanjay Dewangan.
The sessions introduced teachers to Bloom’s Taxonomy and its application in creating questions that assess various cognitive domains — ranging from remembering and understanding to evaluating and creating.
A significant portion of the workshop was devoted to the development of analytical and value-based questions alongside the use of formative assessment tools, rubrics and inclusive evaluation strategies.
