Asian skating competition awardees return from AFSC

The Asian competition awardees hailing from Uttarakhand returned after receiving training on skating at the Advanced Figure Skating Camp (AFSC) which was organised in Gurugram under the aegis of the Ice Skating Association of India.
Notably, a few skaters from the State with international reputation like Harshita Rawtani and Amitabh Singh participated in the camp. On their return, they said that all of them along with the jury member Nishtha Painuli had got acquainted with the nuances of the game in the course of the camp.
It is pertinent to mention that about 30 skaters from across the country participated in AFSC.
In the camp the participants were made to undergo rigorous training under the watch of the elite instructors like Richard Laidla and Giuseppi Triulico who were sent by the International Skating Union.
While addressing the skaters on the last day of the camp, a member of the Olympic Association of India, Amitabh Sharma said that the youngsters of the country were showing an increasing interest in the realm of ice skating. He further said that they had been given the best possible training possible to the camp participants to prepare them for the upcoming Olympics.
General secretary of the Ice Skating Association of India Jagraj Singh Sahni and many other renowned players were present at the camp.
