The Dehradun district administration has started preparations for the Mussoorie Winterline Carnival which is scheduled to be organised in the last week of December. The Dehradun district magistrate Sonika held a meeting on Thursday with the officials concerned and members of the committee including officials from Mussoorie municipality and Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) regarding the preparations for the carnival.
The officials had a detailed discussion about several programmes and events to be held in the carnival. The DM directed the officials to determine the daily programmes to be organised in the carnival besides making a list of the artists participating in it. She also directed the officials to invite local artists and folk artists from across the country besides famous artists to participate in the programmes to be organised in the carnival. She also asked them to ensure stalls of local products of Uttarakhand and other States are set up in the carnival.
The DM further asked the officials to prepare an outline of the programmes and competitions and directed them to ensure that the programmes which are organised as part of the carnival are properly publicised to ensure maximum participation of the local public and tourists. She also instructed the officials to seek suggestions from school children and the public to make the programme a success.
