Authorities inspect 69 gas agencies in Dehradun to check LPG supply issues

The teams formed by the district administration to curb the black marketing of LPG cylinders and the use of domestic cylinders in restaurants checked 69 gas agencies in the district on Monday. Dehradun District Supply Officer (DSO) KK Aggarwal said that six teams have been formed to check black marketing of domestic cylinders and their commercial use. Aggarwal said that 125 cylinders have been seized so far and four FIRs have been registered. He also warned that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in black marketing of cylinders or illegally storing domestic cylinders.
Officials said that quick response teams carried out inspections of gas agencies and commercial establishments across the district. During the drive, 69 gas agencies and 25 commercial establishments were inspected. The teams also seized five domestic LPG cylinders in the Vikasnagar area for irregularities. Officials said that about 14,899 additional domestic consumers and 63 commercial consumers were supplied LPG cylinders on Monday. However, there is still a backlog of about 80,000 domestic cylinders in the district.
The administration said that enough LPG stock is available and gas companies have been directed to increase supply according to demand. Officials also warned that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in LPG black marketing.
