The Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) constituted under Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) nabbed two drug smugglers from Gangnahar area of Haridwar carrying 18,000 prescription pills late on Monday. The senior superintendent of police of STF, Ayush Agrawal informed on Tuesday that ANTF along with local police arrested Bahadrabad residents Azim Hassan and Sameer on Monday from Gangnahar area with controlled drugs worth Rs eight lakh. He said that the STF has registered a case against both accused under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The SSP said that the ANTF has been making consistent efforts to take action against the illegal supply of drugs across the State from neighbouring states. He also appealed to all citizens to approach STF on contact numbers 01352656202 and 9412029536 to give information about any illegal drug-related activities they observe nearby.
