Authorities on Wednesday found the body of missing Rohit Goyal (32) who was swept away in the nala of the Shanti Vihar area of Raipur on Tuesday. The teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and Raipur police started the search operation on Tuesday but could not find the body.
After searching for it in various locations from Shanti Vihar to Doiwala, they finally found the body four kilometres ahead of Dudhli village in Doiwala on Wednesday afternoon, said the officials. They said that the deceased was going to his home on Tuesday around 3:30 PM when he reportedly slipped and fell into the nala when he was trying to cross a bridge in Shanti Vihar.
Since the water level of the nala was high after heavy rainfall in the area, his body was swept away. The officials said that the family members of the deceased were called to identify the body after which the police sent the body for post-mortem after carrying out required procedures.
