Ayurveda is independent and not a competitor to other methods. Stating this while addressing the gathering at the World Book Fair in New Delhi, Patanjali Yogpeeth general secretary Acharya Balkrishna said that events like the World Book Fair benefit the public by providing world-class literature that enhances knowledge. Stating that Patanjali had established Yoga and Ayurveda at the global level, he said that it is a matter of pride that Yoga is globally accepted.
He said that the work which should have been done to establish Ayurveda at the global level was not done, adding that it is a complete science in itself. Ayurveda is independent and doesn’t compete with anything else. It is a part of life in India while allopathy is a compulsion, he said. “Ayurveda teaches us to use natural elements in order to lead a life in harmony with nature. Patanjali published the World Herbal Encyclopedia which contains the description of 32,000 medicinal plants along with their pictures. Earlier, there was information only about 12,000 medicinal plants,” he said.
Stating that Patanjali has also focused on Swadeshi products, he said that all of its products meet quality and purity standards.
