Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is the time to remember sacrifices of freedom fighters- CM

 Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took part in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign at  the border village Munch in Champawat district on Saturday. He attended a programme in the government inter college of the village. Speaking on the occasion he said that the area which is locally called ‘ Talla Desh’ is the holy  land of Baba Gorakhnath. He said that the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign- the call for which was given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become a public movement. Exhorting everyone to place the national flag on their homes, the CM said that the tricolour is the symbol of our pride. He said that an innumerable people had sacrificed for the freedom of the country and the Amrit Mahotsav is the time to remember their sacrifices. Dhami said that the coming 25 years would be the golden period (Amrit kal) for our country. He said that many schemes for welfare of the poor are being undertaken by the State and Union governments. Dhami added that he has requested the union home minister to increase the budget for the border areas. Dhami said the union government has given its acceptance to the proposal of the State government to set up 1200 mobile towers in the remote areas of the state for improving connectivity. Amid loud cheers, Dhami said that he had promised to open the sub tehsil office in the village and today the promise is being fulfilled. The CM said that his government is determined to develop the border areas of the state. He said that doctors have been posted in the hospitals in the area. The CM said that he is committed to provide education, health and other infrastructure and facilities in the area.

 In the programme, the local women tied Rakhi on the wrist of the CM.

 He announced that a permanent helipad would be constructed in the Inter College and approval of science subjects in the college. The CM also made many other announcements and development projects for the area.

 The chairman of the Uttarakhand forest development corporation Kailash Chandra Gehtodi and others were present in the programme.
