The number of pilgrims for Badrinath Dham has crossed the figure of one million, though following the onset of monsoon, the number has been declining with the roads being frequently blocked due to rain-triggered massive landslides.
The portals of Badrinath Dham were opened for the devotees on April 27. Since the Yatra commenced, the number of pilgrims kept on increasing the quirky weather notwithstanding. As per information received, a record 10. 18 lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance to the Lord Badrinath in 67 days, braving the inclement weather.
However, now, as the monsoon has set in, there is a decline in the number of pilgrims. This happens every year. Importantly, maximum number of 23,085 pilgrims visited the revered shrine on May 30.
