The Badrinath temple will be closed to the public for the winter at 3:33 PM on Saturday. The temple has been decked up in flowers for the occasion. The ritual process for closure of the temple began on November 14. On Friday, the Rawal Ishvari Prasad Namboodari invited Goddess Lakshmi to be seated in the Garbh Grah of the temple while Dharmadhikari Radhakrishna Thapliyal and priests of the Lakshmi temple offered prayers and Kadhai Bhog. Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee chairman Ajendra Ajay said that all preparations have been made for the closure of Badrinath temple. The BKTC media in-charge Harish Gaur said that on Saturday the Rawal will dress up as a woman and install Goddess Lakshmi in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Kuber and Uddhav will also reach the temple premises after which the temple will be closed for the winter at 3:33 PM.
