Chairman of the Bageshwar municipal council Suresh Khetwal and former block Pramukh Rekha Khetwal joined the BJP along with their supporters on Wednesday. Apart from them former district president of BSP Sundar Sunewal and two councillors of the municipality also joined the BJP on the day.
The incharge of the Bageshwar and cabinet minister Saurabh Bahuguna and other senior leaders of the party welcomed these leaders into the BJP’s fold.
The district president of BJP Indra Singh Pharswan, district panchayat president Basanti Dev, MLA Suresh Gadhia and other leaders were present on the occasion. The programme was virtually addressed by the Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Ahead of the crucial by- elections the BJP is on a spree to induct leaders of other parties to boost the chances of its candidate Parwati Dass. Recently Ranjit Dass, the candidate of the Congress party in the assembly election of 2022 and former state secretary Sunita Tamta had joined the BJP.
The voting for the by-election will be held on September 5 and the counting of votes will be done on September 8 and the result will be declared on the same day.
