In latest news from Dehradun, the Uttarakhand government banned purchase of agricultural and horticulture land by people of other states until the five-member committee- headed by the additional chief secretary Radha Raturi- examines the report submitted by the committee constituted by the State government in 2022 and headed by the former chief secretary Subhash Kumar to study and examine the amendments made from time to time in the Uttarakhand (Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Abolition and Land Reforms Act 1950) and prepares the final draft. ACS has also been asked by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to interact with people across the State and seek suggestions from the land experts before submitting the report on the new land laws.
