BD Pandey hospital facing patients’ complaints again

In latest news from Uttarakhand, B D Pandey district hospital is once again at the receiving end of complaints lodged by the patents alleging apathy on the part of the hospital administration regarding the plight of the patients thronging the facility from across the district for subsidised treatment. A woman patient had registered complaint, saying that the facility’s staff members had harrased her.  As per the complaint registered by
Leelu Arya (54), resident of Mallital, she had come to the hospital to have a rod removed from her leg. On the advice of the doctor, as she went to the room number 10 to have her sugar test done, the staffs manning the room refused, the complaint ran. She was made to ascend and descend the hospotal stairs, the complaint went on. Many patients also echoed the woman patient’s grievance and said that they had found the staff members in room number 10 absent on several occasions.     Speaking of the matter, the chief medical superintendent of the State-run health facility Dr Tarun Kumar Tamta said that the complaint had been brought to his notice and he had directed all the staff members to come and sit in their cabins during the duty hours and attend to the patients. He assured that from now on, the patients would face no problem on account of the staffers’ absence.
