The management of the Government B D Pandey District Hospital along with some social workers and citizens from Nainital have generously extended monetary assistance for the treatment of the five-year- old girl of Nepalese origin Anjali who had been admitted to the district hospital with severe burns on May 6.
She did not have Ayushman or any other health cards for free treatment. Despite this, the B D Pandey hospital management not just admitted her but provided her free treatment for three months. Costly medicines were even bought from the market to carry on with her treatment.
But as her condition warranted her admission to the AIIMS Rishikesh, the doctors, nurses and other staffer donated Rs 28,000 and handed the sum to the girl’s mother. The generous donation enabled the mother to have her girl admitted to the premier medical facility of the region on Tuesday.
Speaking on it, the chief medical superintendent of the district hospital, Dr Tarun Kumar Tamta said that his hospital does not turn away poor, helpless patients. “We admit and treat them to the best of our ability. This tradition of the hospital will continue in future, too,” he added.
