Become tech savvy, post updates on activities- Purushottam

Exhorting the officers of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries departments to become tech- savvy, the Animal Husbandry and Cooperatives secretary, and project director of State Integrated Cooperative Development project BVRC Purushottam said that they should post regular tweets about the activities of their departments. Chairing a review meeting of the Uttarakhand Sheep and Wool Development Board and the Fisheries department, he directed the officers to prepare weekly charts of their activity and post the works done by them on the Twitter handle on a daily basis, also tagging the departmental minister, NCDC and him. He said that the State Integrated Cooperative Development project is funding the two departments at the village and Nyay Panchayat level. Sheep and Wool Development board project director Avnish Anand said that ‘goat valleys’ are being set up in Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Pauri and Rudraprayag districts. Under the project every farmer can rear 25 goats each. Purushottam said the help of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) should be taken for construction of major structures in the proposed goat valleys. Fisheries project director HK Purohit said that seven cooperative committees of the state have been associated with the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana and under it digging work for three ponds in Haridwar district is going on. The secretary also asked about the steps being taken by the department to reduce the market price of Trout fish.
