The UJVN Limited has been awarded with the prestigious best performing hydropower utility award. This award is given by the central irrigation and electricity board for excellence in the field of hydro electricity. The award was given by the Union Power minister R K Singh to the managing director of UJVN Limited Sandeep Singhal in a programme organised in New Delhi on Saturday.
Singhal said that the central irrigation and electricity board awards institutes, departments and the experts for remarkable contribution in the fields of hydro power and alternative energy. He said that the board took cognizance of the important works of the corporation especially the remarkable power generation by the Dharasu power station of Maneri Bhali II project and selected UJVN limited for the best performing hydro power utility award 2022 and selected Dharasu power station for the best performing hydropower project award. The 304 Mega watt Maneri Bhaili II project located in Uttarkashi district is the project of highest capacity and production of the UJVN Limited and it plays a key role in the revenue of the corporation and the State. The UJVN limited is also working on the 300 MW Lakhwar multipurpose project which has been declared as the national project and on Vyasi, Kali Ganga I and II projects.
Expressing happiness at the achievement, the MD Singhal said that the high class work culture, efficient leadership and hard work of the employees is responsible for the award which is bestowed on the UJVN limited.
