The pro tem speaker of Vidhan Sabha, Bansidhar Bhagat would administer oath to the newly elected MLAs in the state assembly on Monday. The term of the fourth elected assembly of Uttarakhand is ending on March 24. On Monday the governor of Uttarakhand, lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh would administer oath of office and secrecy to the pro tem speaker Bhagat in Raj Bhawan. Later the pro tem speaker would administer oaths to the newly elected members of the fifth elected assembly. In the recently held assembly elections in Uttarakhand, the BJP attained two-third majority in the assembly by winning in 47 out of 70 member assembly constituencies. The opposition Congress finished in the second position with 19 members.
