Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed a public meeting in support of Bharatiya Janata Party candidate from Badrinath Vidhan Sabha constituency, Rajendra Bhandari in Pokhri in Chamoli district on the last day of the campaign for the by-election on Monday. He said that now both Bhandari and BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt will work together for the development of the State. The CM said that Bhandari has resigned for the sake of development of Badrinath Assembly constituency and his victory in the by-election will give a boost to the development of the area.
He said that India is making rapid progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Many historic decisions such as abrogation of article 370 from Kashmir, implementation of CAA, abolition of triple talaq and construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya were taken under the leadership of PM Modi. He said that Uttarakhand became the first State to implement Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and it has enacted the most stringent anti-copying act in the country. Home stays are coming up at many places in the State and the welfare schemes of the government are benefitting every section of the society.
Dhami said that the work is in progress to make Badrinath dham more magnificent with a master plan of Rs 424 crore. The ropeway project from Auli to Gorson has been approved. A sum of Rs 3.50 crore has been sanctioned for construction of a mini stadium in Pokhari.
The CM said that on one hand BJP is working to take the State forward on the path of development while on the other hand the Congress is spreading lies in the society. Terming Congress as a leaderless party, the CM said that the people of Uttarakhand have taught a lesson to the party in the Lok Sabha elections. He said that after losing the LS elections the Congress party is now targeting Hinduism. Dhami said that the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had termed Hindus as violent in parliament. He said that the Congress leader avoided attending the consecration ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya as it was fearful of losing its favourite vote bank.
President of State BJP Mahendra Bhatt, cabinet minister Dhan Singh Rawat, BJP candidate Rajendra Bhandari and others were present on the occasion.
